Niagara Wheatfield Families,

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved French teacher and friend, Mrs. Karen D’Angelo.  We have shared her passing with all of our middle school and high school students and are providing counselors to assist students in dealing with this loss.

Please talk to your children and contact the Middle School or High School Main Office if we can do anything to assist in this grieving process. Below are some resources for dealing with grief and loss that may prove helpful.  We have no further details at this time, but ask that you keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.

With Sadness,

Dr. Laura Palka

Niagara Wheatfield Central School District is comprised of four (4) towns –Town of Wheatfield, Town of Niagara, Town of Lewiston, and the Town of Cambria. Currently our K-12 student enrollment is 3,700. The Town of Wheatfield, one of the school district’s major towns, continues to experience rapid growth. As such, we expect our student enrollment to continue to climb in response to the additional housing starts in Wheatfield.
The district has four (4) elementary schools – Colonial Village Elementary School, West Street Elementary School, Errick Road Elementary School, and the Tuscarora Indian Elementary School. The district has one large middle school (Edward Town Middle School) and one high school. In addition to the core academic programs, we also host a variety of extra-curricular activities. Over the past ten (10) years the district has been heavily involved in capital improvements. Major additions have been added to several of our schools in addition to various upgrades in each of the schools and transportation facility. The community has been most supportive of our need to keep our schools in good physical condition.

The Board of Education and the Superintendent have placed our primary focus on the improvement of student achievement. The District will utilize a Comprehensive District Educational Plan (strategic planning) for the sole purpose of giving focus to student achievement.
